Nearly thirty-thousand children will die this very day in the third world. The saddest part is that they will die from preventable causes. Thirty thousand is a frightfully large number. In fact, it is so large that it makes me feel as if there is nothing I can do. But the truth is, though I can't save the world, I can save a few children. Judy and I have been so blessed to sponsor kids through Compassion International. We know that for only a little more than a dollar a day, our sponsored kids are given the food they need to be healthy. When they're sick they're given medicines that would be unavailable to them without our very small sacrifice. They are given clean clothes they can wear with dignity. They are given the opportunity to attend school. And most importantly they are given a place to go everyday where they are loved in the name of Jesus and valued as the precious children they really are. For only $38 a month they are given the one thing they really need—the one thing none of us can live without. They are given hope.

The deplorable conditions that many children must endure are obvious in these photos but so are the smiling faces of those blessed to be sponsored through Compassion.
